To book with one of our clinicians (exception being our ADHD coach) we will need a valid referral.  This referral will be triaged by our clinicians (this may take 7-10days). 

Following the review and acceptance of your referral by the clinician our friendly admin team will be in touch by email with registration forms and some questionnaires to complete.

Once you complete your questionnaires and they have come back to us (sent by email they return electronically) our team will call to make your appointment.

Please note, if you have seen any of our clinicians at a previous practice, you will need to be registered as a patient of the Mindsight Clinic before you can request a further appointment.

Please see our "About us" page to see what areas of expertise our clinicians have, and what age groups they are able to help. You can also discuss your requirements with your family doctor so they can refer you to the right person.

Discussing your needs with your family doctor is always the best place to start. They can then refer you to the right clinicians, and ensure that if you are eligible you can receive a medicare rebate for your appointment.

You will need a current GP referral in order to continue receiving Medicare rebates for your care. Your time your referral expires will depend on the clinician that you have been referred to:

• For psychiatrists, your referral will last 12 months. 
• For psychologists and social workers, your first referral will cover your first 6 sessions, after which you will need to obtain another referral from your GP or psychiatrist for another 4 sessions per calendar year. 

Please note, you can still see your psychologist/social worker for more than ten sessions a year, but only up to ten will attract a Medicare rebate. Whilst we often remind our patients when they need a new referral, it is their responsibility to ensure their referrals are up to date.

Yes, we do as soon as payment is processed, and a valid referral is on file we submit your refund to Medicare.  Our team will let you know it has gone through prior to you leaving the clinic.

Ezidebit payments- these may take 3 business days more to be come back from Medicare as the Ezidebit process takes a few days itself.

Although Medicare only allows rebates for psychologist/social worker sessions up to a maximum of ten sessions a year, there are other ways of accessing financial support for your therapy. Some of these include:

• Private health insurance
• Victims Support Services
• Psychological Access Plus (means tested support for residents of Northern Sydney Primary Health Network - see our links page for more information)
• NDIS - discuss this with your GP or enlist an NDIS service coordinator to help you manage your funds effectively
